In January 2023, Derek Bryant of We Start Gardens pitched his project to the engineering 110 Class at Santa Clara University. 4 students selected his project and worked for 9 weeks to develop a website to help We Start Gardens achieve the following goals

• Making Derek and We Start Gardens Discoverable

• Easy communication between Derek and his community

• Social communication

• Site is easy to maintain without technical knowledge

The task was not easy Derek is a sort of jack-of-all-trades which skills and ventures beyond the scope of a gardening business, yet the students accepted the challenge of channeling his strengths and narrowing his focus to create a concise message: To inspire courage in everyone to start their own garden.

The new We start Gardens Website will feature booking services, event RSVPs, free and for sale teaching programs and classes, details of services, a blog to tell garden stories and a forum for those who want to engage in garden talk
